Colorado Trail Atlas includes:
3D Hill-Shaded Topographic Maps
The most detailed maps available for the Colorado Trail!
The Colorado Trail is well-traveled and well-maintained by volunteers, making it a pleasure to hike. The route is not always well-marked though, which can make it a challenge to navigate.
The 485 mile route runs from Denver to Durango across the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, intersecting (and sometimes sharing a route with with) jeep roads and other trails and crossing snow fields, creeks and other obstacles.
Colorado Trail Atlas Topographic Maps show the entire route of the 485 mile Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango, complete with hundreds of annotations identifying the locations of important landmarks and milestones (such as water sources, campsites and road/trail junctions) to help you gauge your progress and avoid getting lost.
Elevation Profiles
Prepare for big climb and descents on the Colorado Trail
The Colorado Trail follows the crest of several mountain ranges for most of it’s length. The elevation on the trail ranges from 5,500 to 13,000 feet above sea level.
Colorado Trail Atlas Elevation Profiles show where the trail climbs and descends in an easy-to-read graph, so you will know when to expect steep climbs, long descents or moderate grades, to help you better plan your hike.
Data Tables
Track how many miles you’ve hiked on the Colorado Trail
Once you get on the Colorado Trail you will often wonder how many miles you have hiked. Since there are few trail signs, a data book will help you track your progress.
Colorado Trail Atlas Data Tables provide westbound and eastbound mileage for important on-trail landmarks, distances between points, campsite and water info, additional tips and navigation advice.
Easy-To-Read “At A Glance” Page Layout
No more flipping back and forth to find the information you need!
Most guidebooks scatter information all over the place, requiring you to flip back and forth from one page to the next to find the information you’re looking for, then cross-reference it with some other piece of data in another part of the book.
Colorado Trail Atlas gives you, in a single glance, all of the information you will need to hike approximately 15 miles on the Colorado Trail. When you reach the end of a segment, just turn the page to see the next 15 miles.
Resupply Guide
Find the best places to rest, resupply and send your maildrops
If you are planning a thru-hike or other long distance hike on the Colorado Trail you will need to stop occasionally in trail towns to rest and resupply.
Colorado Trail Atlas Resupply Guide lists the most popular towns and outposts near the Colorado Trail, how to reach them from the trail and which goods and services you can expect to find at each one.
Town Maps
Quickly locate the goods and services you need in trail towns
Trail towns offer a place to buy supplies, eat restaurant food, have a shower, sleep in a bed, relax and recharge before starting the next leg of your journey.
Colorado Trail Atlas Town Maps show where to find essential goods and services in trail towns, so you can do your town chores quickly (shopping, laundry, mail, etc.) and have time left over for rest and recuperation.
Colorado Trail Atlas Fits In Your Pocket And Weighs Just 3.5 Ounces!
Colorado Trail Atlas is the only guidebook designed for ultralight backpackers. It measures 5” x 8” x 1/6”, includes maps and information for the entire 485 mile Colorado Trail printed in crisp full-color from cover to cover, and weighs just 3.5 ounces! (about the same as a deck of cards).
You won’t have to deal with big, floppy trail maps blowing around in the wind and never folding back up the way they came or thick, heavy guidebooks that obscure the essential information inside hundreds of pages of rambling prose.
Colorado Trail Atlas gives you the information you need to navigate the Colorado Trail in a format that is lightweight and easy to use – so you can spend less time poring over confusing maps and flipping through guidebooks, and more time enjoying your hike.
